About the Vendo 126

The Vendo 126 is one of the first square-top models from Vendo, along with the V-63 and V-90. Even though they are indeed a classic, they are not as popular among collectors due to their very tall large design.  collector’s favorite.  In fact, the V-126 is among the tallest and most capable vending units made at the time.  

One of the many interesting facts about this machine is that many variants were made, each with a different appearance to suit different brands or themes. Finally, they were produced between 1959 and the early 1970s, which makes you think about the real market performance of these machines.

Features

  • The Vendo 126 is one of the most modern-looking square-top machines made in 1959, along with the V-90 and V-63, and it’s the tallest of them all. It was also one of the first to have luminescent light bulbs.
  • As its name states, it can hold up to 126 bottles, of sizes between 8oz and 12oz.
  • They have light in the form of a lite up panel that reads “Drink Coca-Cola” at the top of the machine and also in the glass bottle door, replacing the top 12” white paint used in older, rounder models.
  • The glass bottle door shows the 14 types of drinks the machine could vend. Additionally, it could be set up to vend 126 6 or 10-oz bottles, or 112 12-oz bottles, making it an incredibly versatile model.
  • There were several models that varied in appearance made for Pepsi and Dr. Pepper, meaning they are not so rare in terms of numbers.
  • The official Vendo H123 though has a much more standardized appearance and is mostly red. The red empty space was then replaced with different advertisements, thus creating different variations of the machine.
  • One of the advantages of this machine was the Coinco coin system, which could be adapted to any price between .05 and $1.55, and had an easy-to-operate coin-retrieving system on the inside.
